Sponsored by the SSAIB conducted by Martin Kane of ECS Ltd, the installer workshops are designed to keep all installers up to date on the developments and changes taking place in the industry to the European Standards and coming Codes of Practice. These are not seminars but workshops and each attendee will receive a Certificate of attendance. This certificate will also count towards Acquired Prior Learning (APL) for the 1882 National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) levels 2 and 3.

CCTV Surveillance Systems for use in Security applications
This installer based workshop will cover the requirements of BS EN 50132-7 Application guidelines considering - Operational requirements - System operational criteria - System design criteria - Installation - Commissioning and handover – Maintenance This workshop is invaluable to anyone involved in the installation, maintenance, commissioning or surveying of CCTV systems, and all attendees will receiving a certificate of attendance.
There is a small cost to hold places for each workshop of £20 excl. vat per delegate or £40 excl. vat to attend both the morning and afternoon workshops, including lunch. The level 3 1882 NVQ qualification is now a necessity for any installer who may have to work on building sites, which requires you to have a Construction Skills Certificate, as it exempts you from the requirement of a Health & Safety test, so long as you have achieved the award within the last 5 years. NVQ’s are competency based and allow you to work and achieve a qualification at the same time without the requirement to attend college. You can discuss and obtain information regarding NVQ qualifications and registration at the SSAIB stand.
The SSAIB have sponsored these workshops as we actively promote excellence within the security industry. The future of the security industry is dependent on skilled qualified installers. Employing new staff and ensuring existing staff have a recognised creditable qualification should be a given for any professional installation firm.
The workshops will be conducted by Martin Kane of ECS Ltd. ECS provides independent advice within the electronic security systems field. ECS is totally independent and not affiliated to any other organisation. Martin is a graduate and professionally qualified engineer whose experience within the electronics security field of intruder alarms, access control and closed circuit television spans 30 years. His extensive knowledge has been gained in the
United Kingdom,
Europe,
the
Far East and the Americas in a variety of sectors; government, military, health service, blue chip companies, banking and education.
Martin Kane will also be available, in between the workshops, on the SSAIB stand in the main roadshow for advice on gaining qualifications within the industry.
